The journey of becoming a midwife is
unique for each individual as God has special and specific plans for every individual for His glory. Before beginning, understand that becoming a Christian
Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) must be a calling from God. Opposition
against Christian CPM’s is prevalent in our day. Each CPM student must have a
strong conviction that they are in the will of God by joining Christian Heritage Academy of Midwifery (CHAM).
CHAM will help students along the journey through resources, mentorship
opportunities, retreats, support and prayer. We pray that this academy will not
only train midwives but be a time of developing a strong relationship
with Jesus Christ and that the Word of God would go deep in each students' heart. In addition, each skills class
will have a time of praise and worship to encourage student in their spiritual
journey.
Our first principle is
“Everything must be done in prayer.” Prayer is a vital key to the life of a
Christian midwife. Regular prayer is taking place among the leadership of CHAM
for the students and the academy.
“Rejoice
in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known
to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to
God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7
We
encourage students to seek biblical counsel from the male authority in their life. Be
this a pastor, elders, father, or husband, seeking the counsel and support of the man God has placed in each students life is important to their success.
"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8
Focusing on Christ and dwelling on the truths found in the Word of God are the foundation upon which everything we do is built. Each student has been given a gift by God to use for His glory and we hope that they are willing to share it with us.
We are here to use the tools God has given us to prepare students to be the best possible midwife for His glory.
Blessings in Christ.
